🔍 What is Meant by Predictions?

Predictions

Let us consider the following examples:

  • It is 6 AM in the morning; the sun has just risen, and I say that exactly after 13 hours, at 7 in the evening, the Sun will disappear. Have I made a prediction??

Yes, because I foresaw what is going to happen in the future, so this makes it a prediction.

Let us call this ☀️ The Daily Cycle:

  • It is the month of December, winters are at peak, and I say that exactly after 3 months the weather would change; it would become moderate, and after 4 months, it would be extremely hot.

Have I made a prediction??

Certainly, I foresaw a future event in the present; this makes it a prediction.

Let us call this ❄️ The Seasonal Cycle:

🔄 How did I make these 2 predictions?

To make these predictions, one must understand the cyclical nature of events. One must have a record of previous cycles, and by looking at the pattern of previous cycles, we forecast the future cycles.

Are these 2 predictions connected??

Yes!! Because the first prediction is the smaller cycle of a day, and the second prediction is made by combining the smaller cycles of the day and looking at the bigger cycles. So let us say after 90 sunrises and sunsets, the weather would change.

Here, we have combined the smaller cycles and understood the cyclicity of the bigger cycles. Similarly, we can combine the bigger cycle of 1 year to get even bigger cycles of, say, 5 years and predict that a child that is born today, after 5 summers from today, will start going to school.

This is integrating cycles to understand the bigger perspective.

🪐 The Three Systems of Astrology

The Parashari, Jaimini, and Tajik systems of Astrology work on understanding repetitive cycles of planets, and their prediction is based on the point of view from which they are looking at these cycles.

In the coming articles, I will explain from what perspective the Parashari, Jaimini, and Tajik systems look at the same time cycle to make predictions, and how they also integrate elements of the viewpoints of other systems.

🤔 Questions to Ponder

For understanding the next article, you must first consider and think about the following questions that must have confused you, but a satisfactory solution was not provided.

1. How are the years of a Vimshottari Dasha decided?

Does it appear strange that if someone is born with his Moon in the Nakshatra of the Moon, his dasha would take 10 years to change? 10 years!! The Moon covers a Nakshatra in 24 hours. Where did these 10 years come from? And the same Moon, if placed in the Nakshatra of Saturn, takes 19 years. If we take the speed of the Moon, then it should take the same time to cover any Nakshatra. Why does the Moon take 10 years to cover the Nakshatra of the Moon and 19 years to cover the Nakshatra of Saturn when both of them are 13 degrees 20 minutes?

2. How Ithshaal Yoga works:

Ithshaal Yoga considers a slow-moving planet and a fast-moving planet, but it considers their degree in a particular Rashi and not the actual degree.

Example ScenarioPositionTajik Principle Perspective
🌙 Moon15° CapricornFast-moving, but considered “behind.”
♂️ Mars25° TaurusSlow-moving, but considered “ahead.”

Why is the distance moved in a particular rashi make a planet behind or ahead when considering the actual degree, the one that is considered behind could be ahead?

3. Atmakaraks in Jaimini:

What is the relevance of the highest degree in a particular Rashi and why the highest degree in the zodiac is not used to determine the Atmakarak?

We will analyze these questions in the coming articles and try to find the answers.

Hint:  Predictions are about understanding the cyclical nature of events, looking from various angles, and finding out what comes next in the wheel of time.

As the events are cyclical, whatever is happening has happened before and will happen again.

📝 Summary

  • Predictions are based on understanding and identifying the cyclical nature of events.
  • By observing patterns in previous cycles, we can accurately forecast future cycles.
  • Astrological predictions (Parashari, Jaimini, Tajik) are essentially integrated perspectives of planetary cycles.
  • The upcoming articles will address the mystery of why degrees within a Rashi often matter more than the absolute degree in the zodiac.
